Undisclosed Church - Kent

13th February 2010

Background:
This church was first constructed in the 11th century and has many additions since. No longer used for regular worship and maintained by The Churches Commission and we are privileged to have occasional access. We will, however, have to respect the wishes of it's owners and cannot identify it or its location. Ghost Connections have been here before a number of times and had some mixed results that probably include the most identifiable auditory phenomena we have ever had, therefore, we always look forward to a return. Please view some of our previous reports and video footage from this “Undisclosed Church” to see what has happened before.

Investigators: Ian, Kim, Paddy and Dave.

Method:
Using visual and scientific methods combined with spiritual theory we were to investigate the alleged paranormal phenomena at this venue. We had been to this venue any times now so we resorted to our tested method of simple vigils with the option of conducting a séance had we felt this was appropriate. All the normal equipment as above was deployed around the vicinity of the vigil area.

Investigation:
Session one
We settled into our customary position seated in the area of the altar as this is where we have had most of our best results previously. Dave and Ian's camcorders were running as were Kim's, Dave's and Paddy's voice recorders. This was to remain the case for the rest of the investigation. No soon as we had sat down we had to call a halt as a vehicle approached out location. We have to do this as we need to check if the vehicle park and the occupants stay in the area of the church as this may affect or confuse any results we may get. A good twenty five minutes pass before we are certain the vehicle had gone and we took our seats again, Dave began calling for anyone with us to join us and referred to previous results we have had. Paddy added that we had a spare seat and anyone should feel free to join us. The team continue to think they are hearing and seeing things so Dave continues to call and other members of the team continue to call.

Session two
We resumed our seats after a brief break and continued as before, initially in silence listening out for the ambient noises of the church. It was so quiet for some time that there was an air of anticipation that something was building, so Dave started calling out with a full explanation of why we were there and what we would like to see or hear, this was until another car pulled up outside and torchlight was seen outside the building so we had to abandon the session.

Session three
After a break and ensuring our visitors had gone we resumed our positions we continued as before. Dave began to call aloud again once Paddy had returned from investigating a noise that was heard. Dave asks for another confirmation and continues questioning. After a long period of questioning with no responses Ian took over the calling. After a prolonged period with little or nothing to comment on, and considering the coldness that had set in, it was decided to take a break.

Session four
Warmed (slightly) and refreshed we again returned again for what was going to be our last session of the investigation. Ian began calling explaining this and that the cold was getting to us and we wished somebody to provide us with something to make the nights investigation worthwhile. With no responses Dave had a go at doing the same. Alternate calling continued until we became aware of a group of people on foot outside the building so again had to halt what was to session. Regrouping for a brief while it was not long after this that we decided to call and end to the session and close of the investigation.

Results

Session one
Some knocks were heard during our first session and recorded on our camcorder footage although these appear to have not been heard by the team at the time. Paddy and Kim thought they heard footsteps, Ian thought he heard rustling. Whilst calling out Dave and Kim noticed what they thought was the same movement in the shadows from the same area further down the church. The night vision lamp on Ian's camcorder looses power and the footages from here on in became very dark.

Session two
No soon as we had sat down we heard a thump from the other end of the church. The noises of local traffic could be heard in the distance. After a while sitting an odd noises is recorded by Ian's camcorder followed by what sounds like three footfalls and then the click of what may be a door. This was not reacted to by the team so not heard at the time.

Session three
The team comment on a mechanical almost clockwork noise like a clock mechanism. While Dave calls aloud the team hear rapid footfalls from the chapel adjacent to the altar area. Paddy comments on feeling a little odd similar to the experience of a change on air pressure aboard and airliner.

Session four
Kim and Dave think they see a figure by Ian tripod mounted camcorder and that the figure was briefly illuminated by the light from the camcorders viewfinder. Later Ian sees with his naked eye a light dart down behind his tripod in the same area Kim and Dave had thought they had previously seen the figure. A noise is heard by the whole team appearing to come from behind them by the altar. This resembled a vibration of sorts.

Conclusions
The night was lacking in results, there were a few noises heard but this was not as much as we expected given previous results.

Session one
Some knocks were heard during this session and recorded on our camcorder footage although these appear to have not been heard by the team at the time. Others were heard by the team. These noises could have many explanations and were not substantial enough to be identified and investigated further, therefore, we cannot comment on how these occurred.

The footsteps heard by Paddy and Kim and the rustling heard by Ian were not recorded by our equipment, therefore cannot be analysed further, we have no explanation as to why they thought they heard these things. The movement in the shadows witnessed by Dave and Kim may simply be a trick of the light and the effect of tired eyes, as this was not repeated, nor recorded on camcorder we cannot seek no confirmation of this and can comment no further.

Ian recalled changing the batteries in his night vision lamp at the start of the investigation, we can offer no explanation as to why they would drain only one hour into the investigation.

Session two
Some noises were recorded and others were not, much as in the last session, however, unfortunately the same applies in that we cannot comment on the cause of these noises as they were very subtle and not substantial enough to be identified and examined in more detail.

Session three
The mechanical almost clockwork like noise heard by some of the team could not be identified and unfortunately was not recorded on our equipment. It is worth mentioning at this point that there is no such mechanism in the church that could have caused this noise. This cannot be explained and with no evidence of it we cannot look further into this occurrence. The rapid footfalls from the chapel adjacent to the altar area were very similar to those previously witnessed and recorded at this location, unfortunately on this occasion they were not recorded so we cannot examine these further.

Session four
Neither the figure seen by Kim and Dave by Ian's tripod or the light seen by Ian later in the same area were recorded on our footage. Despite being an interesting experience we cannot comment on how this occurred or what these people actually saw with no evidence to support these events. The noise heard by the whole team and appearing to come from behind them by the altar was recorded on camcorder and at this present time we can offer no suggestion as to what may have caused this. This noise has not been heard during any of our previous investigations here and we are unable to offer an explanation.
To see some of the events outlined above please watch the accompanying video compilation of clips from our footage.
During our stay a certain amount of other information was forthcoming to the team of a clairvoyant nature. As Ghost Connections conducts scientifically based investigations we do not publish such observations, however, this information is held on a separate database and may prove interesting when compared to other peoples experiences. Should you wish to discuss this information please email us.

Thanks
Many thanks as always to the venue owners for the chance to have access to such a venue. We appreciate the trust bestowed upon us.
