Method:
Using visual and scientific methods combined with spiritual theory, we adopt a method of simple vigils but on this occasion separating into two groups, swapping areas in order to compare results and experiences only after all vigils had been completed.

Investigation:
First vigil
Great Hall – Dave and Ian
Once seated and accustomed to ambient noises of the great hall Ian began calling, announcing our reasons for being there and asking for responses. Part way through Dave took over till the end of the session. Dave and Ian had camcorders running and Dave was also using his voice recorder.

Second Floor Butlers Room – Kim and Paddy

Kim and Paddy seated themselves in the top floor butler’s room and after a while began a similar process of asking for activity. Kim had her voice recorder running and was also recording the vigil on camcorder.

Second Vigil
Great Hall – Kim and Paddy
Paddy and Kim swapped with Dave and Ian and took their places for a repeat vigil in the great hall, using the same equipment they had used upstairs.
Second Floor Butlers Room – Dave and Ian
Ian and Dave moved their own equipment upstairs to where Kim and Paddy had been earlier and proceeded to take turns calling aloud for recordable activity to occur.

Third Vigil
First Floor Landing – Whole team
A short session due to the late hour, but the team combined their resources to hold a brief group vigil on the first floor landing and corridor. We seated ourselves around the corner of the landing at the foot of the steps that we had suggested were the cause of the noise heard during Dave and Ian's session in the butler’s room. Ian and Dave's camcorders were running as were Dave and Kim's voice recorders. After a short while with Dave calling aloud we decided to close the investigation and head for home.

Results

First vigil
Great Hall – Dave and Ian
No soon as Dave and Ian had sat down taps were heard from the North West corner of the room by Ian's camcorder. Ian asked if anyone had joined them, this was followed by the sound of shuffling and another couple of taps by the door to the entrance hall. While this was being commented on another noise was heard in the same area. After a short while the noises stopped and despite encouragement by Ian and Dave no further noises occurred. A selection of the earlier noises was recorded on our camcorder footage and can be viewed on the video that accompanies this report.

Second Floor Butlers Room – Kim and Paddy
Despite some intense and open questioning there were no occurrences on which to report.

Second Vigil
Great Hall – Kim and Paddy

Again it seemed that despite all their efforts Kim and Paddy had nothing to report by the end of the session.

Second Floor Butlers Room – Dave and Ian

Once settled seated on the floor a few odd taps were heard. Ian and Dave began taking turns calling in the normal fashion. At one point as Ian began to speak a loud and distinct long creak came for the foot of the stairs to this room. This was not repeated when requested and curiosity got the better of them. Ian and Dave were sure this was creaking floor board or door and walked around the landing testing doors and accidentally Ian discover the bottom step of a short flight of steps made precisely the same noise. For the remainder of the vigil Dave repositioned his camcorder to point in the direction of the stairs, Ian moved his to cover the door to the room where Dave was sitting. Some other noises were heard on our recordings but not commented on at the time, therefore, could not have been heard by us.

Third Vigil
First Floor Landing – Whole team

There were a few noises heard during this time some of these were recorded on the video footage, however, other noises were caught on camcorder but not heard by the team at the time. These are still to be analysed but they do sound like foot falls and movement. One even sounded like someone blowing against the mic on Ian's camcorder. Despite these nothing extraordinary appeared to happen during the vigil.

Conclusions

First vigil
Great Hall – Dave and Ian

This first session was interesting due to the apparent and instant noises that occurred, even before they had been asked for. Also some of the noises seemed responsive to requests for the same. However, It must be noted that both Ian and Dave had been in that area of the room moments earlier whilst setting up their camcorders, and we cannot rule out that any creaks or taps could have been the floor boards resting after having been walked on, although we do not feel that this could account for all of the noises given the time that had passed between walking across them and the occurrence itself. From previous experience we know the room normally emits little noise at all. After having reviewed the footage we can only say that these noises are at best inconclusive.

Second Floor Butlers Room – Kim and Paddy
With no recorded results no conclusions are possible.

Second Vigil
Great Hall – Kim and Paddy

Again with no recorded results no conclusions are possible.

Second Floor Butlers Room – Dave and Ian
General taps were heard but more were recorded on the camcorder footage than were heard at the time. A certain amount of these may be natural building movement but some seemed to be responsive, we can offer no explanation for these. Convinced the creak they heard was the lower step Dave walked up and down the step and concluded the noise walking up the step, rather than down, was identical to that heard. This was then tried in boots and also without, the latter being even more a convincing matches. From this we deduced the noise we heard could only have been that of a soft soled pair of shoes walking up the step. We know the only other two people in the building were Kim and Paddy who were in the great hall, therefore, we can offer no explanation for this other assuming it may have been of paranormal origin.

Third Vigil
First Floor Landing – Whole team

Some of these noises were heard by the team at the time but being single occurrences and not repeated when requested we can only class these as natural and not of paranormal origin. Other noises recorded but not heard at the time are of interest and need further analysis before any conclusions can be reached. These can be viewed on the accompanying video if you wish to draw your own conclusions.

During our stay a certain amount of other information was forthcoming to the team of a clairvoyant nature. As Ghost Connections conducts scientifically based investigations we do not publish such observations, however, this information is held on a separate database and may prove interesting when compared to other peoples experiences. Should you wish to discuss this information please email us.

Thanks
Another interesting night all be it not packed with phenomena. But it would seem to be that this location still has much to offer and further visits will be planned in the forthcoming year. Our continued thanks go to the owners for their support in allowing us so much freedom to conduct regular investigations at this location.
