Undisclosed Location - Kent |
||
Ghost Connections were privileged to be granted access to the same venue as visited in August, twice in September, and then in November 2007. This venue is in rural Kent and is significant historical interest spanning several centuries. To our knowledge it has never been subject to a paranormal investigation and after our first visit we are pleased to be able to conduct further investigations at this venue. The first report can be read
here. The site consists of three buildings of which two have been referred to as buildings A and B in the previous report. The same terms will be used here. Further to these there is a utility block which will be referred to in this report |

The Investigation | ||
Apparatus:
Video camera- Digital Camera- Voice recorder - Other- Team: Kim
Using visual and scientific methods combined with spiritual information investigate the background to alleged paranormal phenomena at this venue.
A trigger object of our own design was set up within building A in a corner where most events or sightings had previously been identified to have occurred. This consisted of a plate dusted with flour in which a coin was placed. Over this an upturned clear bowl was placed which would negate any outside interference. The whole setting up of this experiment was filmed on video and photographed to maintain consistency. The video tapes would be changed at regular intervals and during the evening the experiment would be checked on every break for an any disturbance. A Blue Tit was seen within building A when setting up. Due to the size of the building it was not possible to remove it so its presence was noted. We further decided to repeat the investigation methods deployed at the beginning where as a team we separated into two groups and took turns in each building. Kim and Paddy first went to building A whilst Ian and Dave went to building B and then each pair swapped. The below notes will compare each teams notes in building A before moving on to describe building B. Building A - Kim noted movement in the area of the nearest door. Upon turning round to see what was there a sudden pain developed in her right temple. There was a sensation of being extremely cold within this area. Kim commented that she saw her breath in front of her. She stated that despite this she actually felt warm. Owls could be heard in the distance. Blue Tit had not been seen since the commencement of the investigation. The temperature was noted 4 deg C. Kim and Paddy then moved location within the building and found the
new area to be notably warmer. An investigation took place to identify the cause and both returned to building A. A bodily function and a giggle were heard by Kim and then several clicks were heard within the building. Dave and Ian now turned their attention to this building - A bright flash was seen by Dave on the CCTV monitor. No cars or persons went past or were approaching.After this some taps were heard to be produced on the monitor taking sound from the outside camera's. A tap was heard coming from the area of Bay III at a given noted time. A bang was heard towards the further end of the building. It was not repeated upon request. Building B - Dave and Ian began in building B - Dave and Ian took up a position in the building on the upper floor. Ian heard the faint sound of music being played. He then heard a male voice. He describes the voice as deep and middle aged. He believed the word used was 'Hello'. The temperature was noted to be 5.4 deg C. It would then fluctuate by +/- 03.deg C until it settled at around 6.2 deg C. It would then be that Ian and Dave would note the light flashes seen by Kim and Paddy. A break took place to investigate them. Upon return from this investigation the temperature was 4.9 deg C. A faint double tap was heard. A single tap occurred following a request to repeat the double. A further request produced a single tap. A future request resulted in nothing. It is interesting that Dave was writing notes describing a male person at the same time that Ian describes hearing a male voice. We cannot say that the two are connected but it is worth noting. Ian's music sound may or may not have come from a neighboring house. Being described as being on the edge of his hearing it is possibly that this emanated from a neighboring domestic premises. Kim and Paddy would swap and go to building B and sat in the same location as Ian and Dave. Another flash of light is recorded. A sweet smell is noted by Kim. The cause is not identified. |

At the end of the investigation it was confirmed that no
movement of the coin within the experiment had taken place. It was however
noted during an earlier break that there were two depressions in the flour
at the sides of the coin as if it had attempted to be lifted or moved. This
would later become evident from study of the footage. It was later established that the depressions were caused by the setting up of the experiment. The person positioning the coin had inadvertently caused the depressions with the tips of their fingers. There will always be a possibility that animals are responsible for some noises. To this end the presence of the Blue Tit has been included within this report. It cannot be said that this was responsible fro any later events but is included here for completeness. The visibility of Kim breath could be expected in an unheated building in January however experience has shown that this building retains a lot of heat. The feelings of warmth associated with a localized coldness are not explainable although the building does have gaps in some wooden panels so may be subject to localized draughts. Differences of temperature within the same building are not readily explainable although the actual temperature was found to remain fairly constant. Investigation of the flashes of light outside of the building was immediately investigated – seen by both teams, each thought that the other team was responsible in someway. When it became apparent that this was not the case, the area was checked for any other persons. None were found and the CCTV revalued no persons entering the site. Again our CCTV had proved its worth and had served to show that no other persons could be responsible for what occurred. It remains one of our most significant sightings of unexplained phenomena. The sound of a bodily function and giggling is unique – often the team have encountered voices or laughter but bodily noises are rare. Then be followed by giggling is to be, perhaps, expected from a child. Given the other sightings at this venue this may be of significance. The audible clicks heard were not identifiable and may be due to natural causes. The taps heard by Dave were found to be the contact of some drips with the CCTV camera body. The flash seen was likely to have been a water droplet exploding on contact and the light from the IR reflected from the dispersing droplets. The bangs and taps heard in this session were unexplained although not noted as interest as they were not repeated upon request. The bangs and taps heard by Ian and Dave cannot be accounted for. Although some repetition was witnessed after requests to do so this was not consistent and cannot be put down to any suggestion of paranormal activity. The smell noted by Kim was not identified and a cause was not found either. This remains a mystery. Different smells can be carried on the wind yet there was no wind on this occasion. We cannot say this was paranormal. During our stay a certain amount of other information was forthcoming
to the team of a clairvoyant nature. As Ghost Connections conducts scientifically
based investigations we do not publish such observations, however, this
information is held on a separate database and may prove interesting when
compared to other peoples experiences. Should you wish to discuss this
information please email
us Some visual phenomena were noted during the course of the investigation to be displayed on the CCTV monitors. These were identified as drips falling from the roof past the lens of the camera and whilst have the appearance of falling 'orbs' often referred to paranormal investigations they were totally naturally occurring. |

Conclusions | ||
Whilst the depression in the flour during the trigger object
experiment were disappointingly found to caused by a member of the team
it does however, give us experience in this type of experiment and from
this we are able to refine our methodology to negate such events in the
future. This has only been able to be shown due to the meticulous method
of evidence gathering used in the construction of the experiment. By this
we were able to establish that there was no paranormal cause and therefore
our procedures are evidentially sound even if the physical construction
was flawed. We shall continue to refine this experiment. Another very interesting night at this location. Its is interesting to note that different things have been highlighted compared to previous investigations here. The weather was different with an identifiable wind although we feel that not all of what was noted can be explained by this. |
