Undisclosed Location - Kent

Ghost Connections were privileged to be granted access to the same venue as visited in August, twice in September, and then in November 2007, followed by January and March 2008. This venue is in rural Kent and is significant historical interest spanning several centuries. To our knowledge it has never been subject to a paranormal investigation and after our first visit we are pleased to be able to conduct further investigations at this venue.

Investigation:

CCTV was not deployed on this occasion.

Ghost Connections have recently reviewed their investigation methods and dusted off some of our other equipment and the Canum makes a re-appearance for its second investigation. This is designed to make Ultrasonic sounds audible to the human ear. It has a facility for recording equipment to be plugged into it or can be listened to 'live' through headphones.

On our last investigation we recorded some sounds of some machinery within building A which we would attempt to identify on this occasion.

We had purposely left this venue for a while after we found very little to comment on during our last couple of visits which co-incided with the close season. Would the fact that it was now back open to the public and more visitors with more energy passing through the door make a difference?

Having unusually arrived in daylight on the first day of summer we made use of the opportunity to take some photographs around the site and then to research the possible cause of the ratchet type noise recorded on investigation 6.

Having scoured the building for suitable objects that had handles and freely rotating parts Ian and Dave were trying the objects whilst Kim stood in the area where we had recorded the noise previously. Eventually a choice of two became clear and were both operated and recorded for later comparison. What became clear is that neither of them were able to move or operate of their own accord and effort had to be employed to make them rotate.

Having spent some time researching these it was on with the investigation in hand.

Previously, in building A, we had noted a number of noises eminating from the furthest end (north) of the building whilst tending to conduct our vigils at some other point at half way or beyond. Sightings of unknown shadows and described shapes had taken place in this area so more time was required to explore this.

Initially to trial theories of seances building energy to create phenomena we conducted a séance and filmed and recorded the events in this area. No noises or sightings of an authenticated nature were noted during this initial period.

Kim described the atmosphere building and a sudden sensation of great sadness going through her.

During Dave and Kim describing someone Ian remarked on a sharp touch to his thigh.

Ian commented that it was cold on about 3 distinct occasions across the back of his hand which he was holding Kim's with.

Various single noises and clicks continued to be heard.

Feeling rather drained by the experience here we took a break and went out to the cars for something to eat and drink.

Break over we returned to building A and split ourselves over the length of the building. Ian took up a position near to where we had been previously. Kim was seated near the public entrance doors and Dave at the southern end. Kim listened for some time to the Canum we had taken with us.

After a prolonged vigil we took another break. Odd noises had been heard. Kim noted a whining type noise near Dave which he didn't comment on. She also noted a banging noise outside which was heard by the rest of the team. Ian noted a whistling coming from the area where he was seated.

The banging noise continued as we moved outside and the source located.

Having made several notes on previous investigations at this site in regard to observations outside the buildings some time was then devoted to this area. As we commenced this Ian and Kim went back into building A to collect some equipment and a wooden 'teetering' noise was heard near the door area by the team. Dave then went into the building to collect equipment and as he returned he shut the door. This was identified as the same noise as was heard.

We started the investigation outside and distinctly heard a coughing from the field opposite us.

Kim noted a dark shape moving towards Ian.

Ian noted hearing voices.

Nothing else was noted and we took a short break.

A further vigil in the form of a séance was held at the southern end of building A. A number of noises were heard. Odd taps were forthcoming and some were on request however any repetition was not forthcoming. There was a distinct sound further up building A of an object being moved and this was followed by similar immediately next to the team. The sound was described by everyone as sounding like a person moving about in between some exhibits and nudging them across the floor. It was prolonged and distinct. When challenged to repeat the phenomena it was not repeated.

This session was then closed and the investigation concluded.

    Results
The weather was calm on this occasion and cannot be said to have caused any noises within the building.

Potentially having identified the machinery responsible for the noise on a previous investigation is of interest. This is not an object that can easily be moved and we are always alone within the site. There is no way any persons could enter the building without our knowledge and this event must be considered to be of value in our investigations on this site.

The noises in building A were of interest and seemed to be reasonably consistent with requests to make them initially. We have had noises in the past here which we have found to be consistent with the wind although this can be discounted.

Descriptions of persons were of interest and seemed to be consistently recounted by more than one member of the team. Whilst the imagination can be said to contribute to certain sensations on investigations any correlation between descriptions by more than one individual independently are of interest.

Ian distinctly recorded, and commented at the time, on a definate touch to his thigh. Due to our positioning it could not have been one of the team. We cannot discount an object falling onto his thigh or something similar to a bat flying into it as this has happened on investigations elsewhere and we know there to be a bat resident in building A. Ian stated that it was a definate and prolonged touch so we do not believe either of these explanations to be correct. It remains unexplained.

During the team split none of the noises could be verified. Ian distinctly noted a whistle. It is possible that other noises may be explainable but this whistle is of uncertain origin. The whining noise heard near Dave by Kim is unusual as it was not noted by Dave. We cannot explain why this would be.

The banging noise that was heard when the team were in the building and also outside was traced to a neighbouring field where a goat was rubbing its head against a loose metal gate which in turn was hitting a building.

The dark shape seen by Kim was unusual and tally's with some previous events here. There were no solid objects moving in our sight to have caused this and we cannot explain it.

The voices that Ian heard may have come from a neighbouring house and so cannot be verified or explained.

The noises in the last session were of great interest.

The taps heard were apparently caused upon request although as no repetition was forthcoming on request they cannot be relied upon as any indication of how they were caused. Unlike other occasions it is difficult for us to explain them as being caused by the prevailing weather. It was also notes that some repairs to loose panes of glass withn the windows now prevented their movement as noted on previous investigations at this site.

The shuffling sounds of movement are of interest. There is no explanation for these. The area was visible to the team and was so close to them that anything physically present would have been seen even though is was virtually dark. The sounds continued for some time without being heard to increase or decrease in volume indicative of moving closer to or further from the team. This is probably the most interesting event on this investigation.

The wooden sound heard was identified as being so similar to the door closing that no difference could be distinguished. Bearing in mind previous events with this same door this was considered a possibility although we know the door did not close to cause the noise physically when Ian and Kim were in the building. The cause of a similar sound is currently a mystery.

We have done two investigations during the 'closed season' at this venue and found the events to be somewhat diminished in number and intensity to previously during the 'open season'. We noted, from the visitors book, that there were around 20 visitors recorded since May 2008 and this investigation took place on 21 June 2008. We would like to allow for a greater number of visitors during this time although verification is difficult. We are attempting to see if there is any correlation between noted occurrences on our investigations and the number of persons that would visit the site around these times. Our findings, and any theory we have, will be offered in our final report which will be prepared when our investigations have concluded here.

During our stay a certain amount of other information was forthcoming to the team of a clairvoyant nature. As Ghost Connections conducts scientifically based investigations we do not publish such observations, however, this information is held on a separate database and may prove interesting when compared to other peoples experiences. Should you wish to discuss this information please email us.

Camcorder footage, still photographs and voice recorders were later examined and nothing further of note was found. Some of the audible noises were found to be recorded and as such we can be certain that they were not imagined by the team.

    Conclusion
Another compelling night at this location. Its is interesting to note that different things have been highlighted compared to previous investigations although many similarities are occurring time after time. We look forward to another visit soon and the preparation of our findings in our closing report which we now believe will make interesting reading and relate to some theories regarding supernatural occurrences.
    Thanks
Ghost Connections extend their thanks to the custodians of this site for their continued support to an ongoing series of investigations.
