Undisclosed Location - Kent |
|
Ghost Connections were privileged to be granted access to the same venue as visited in August, twice in September, and then in November 2007, followed by January 2008. This venue is in rural Kent and is significant historical interest spanning several centuries. To our knowledge it has never been subject to a paranormal investigation and after our first visit we are pleased to be able to conduct further investigations at this venue. The first report can be read
here. The site consists of three buildings of which two have been referred to as buildings A and B in the previous report. The same terms will be used here. This investigation would concentrate an another area of the site not previously investigated to any great extent. |

The Investigation |

Apparatus:
Video camera- Digital Camera- Voice recorder - Other- Team: Kim
Using visual and scientific methods combined with spiritual information investigate the background to alleged paranormal phenomena at this venue.
There was one area of building B that had not been investigated in any detail before although indications of unexplained noises had been heard there on previous occasions. It was therefore decided that the evening would focus on this area. It is an attached part of building B and only accessible through building B. It is only safely accessible through building B's ground floor door although a first floor level exists. At the top of this structure is a venting system which is controlled specifically by the exterior environment change and consists of a large device mounted on a fully turning system anchored internally by a wooden beam structure. This was note to creak and bang as it moved. Once we had noted the sounds from here we could then eliminate them for the rest of the evening. This evening would also see the deployment of a newly developed 'sterile' pendulum experiment see below - The new experiment consists of a pendulum suspended within an airtight container. Placed on a horizontal surface and left untouched it was recorded throughout the evening by one video camera. A separate IR light was placed at an angle as seen above in order to highlight the pendulum without causing glare into the camera from the surface of the container. An addition to the experiment was a hand written note saying simply 'Please move this'. Our theory behind this being that, save us keep drawing attention to the experiment, anyone else present may be able to read the note and move the pendulum. All footage would be reviewed for results. To have described this first is to have missed the initial events. Paddy arrived first and hears 'She's here' repeated time and again within the enclosed area between building A and B. Initially we opened building A and turned the lights on for a walkaround before turning them off having decided to actually investigate building B first. During the walkaround in building A Paddy described a female with long dark hair of unkempt appearance. She has a wild look about her. She is aged about mid 20's, slim and quite tall. She was seen as a reflection in one of the windows standing behind Paddy. Moving back to the main subject (building B). We set up the equipment with the experiment running and Ian's camera on a tripod filming under an arch structure in this room. We arranged our chairs around the perimeter facing into the centre. We could not reach or see the experiment. The light from Dave's camera filming the experiment would give some illumination of the area behind and allow us to see some of the room unaided. Ian put new batteries in his camera before arriving and these were found to be flat and needed replacing. In this area there were various sensations of other people being present and sounds of movement like shuffling were commented upon as though it were on the ground floor where we were. Nothing was seen with the naked eye to support this and the area was completely visible to us. Both Paddy and Ian comment on hearing footsteps at differing times whilst setting up and Ian hears a shuffling sound. The wind could be heard outside and was responsible for some movement in the device already described on the roof of the structure. Ian describes one of the knocks and then there are a series of more. The team return to the same place and further shuffling noises are heard within the same area. A 'tap' is heard in the main area of the building. Paddy hears another exhale of breath. At one point more than one member of the team would comment on red pin pricks of light being visible in the area of Ian's camera. At this precise moment there was the sound of a click as though something had walked into his metal tripod. As the team discussed the lights another was seen by Dave brighter and further down on the internal wall structure. Kim hears taps by the door which are also noted by Ian and Paddy. Paddy notes the sound of an exhale of breath. Dave also comments on a similar noise but no one in the team admits doing so. Part of the internal wall has a hatch in it and Ian notes that he believes we are being watched by something through it. More shuffling in the arched area is heard. Repetitive noises are heard for a short period upstairs in the main building. The team take a break. During the break Paddy sits within his car writing up his notes and records that he hears what sounds like someone leaning on his car bonnet although nothing is seen. The team returned to the same place. Further sounds of movement were heard either in the tunnel or upstairs but could not be placed. Dave and Ian changed tapes in their cameras and I changed position of his to view into the main building due to the noises being heard there. Paddy heard some banging in the main building then went to investigate this. A lot more banging was heard from overhead and it was decided that the lights would be turned on for a spell to be able to try to ascertain the cause. A further break was taken. Paddy left the investigation at this point. The last session was draining so the team decided to change location to building A. The pendulum experiment was moved from the previous location to building A on a firm table and recording started. A voice recorder remained in the previous location. Once in building A the door was slammed shut violently. A fire extinguisher was put against it to keep it to. The wind can be heard outside across the roof. A creaking noise was heard from across the bay. A distant squeak noise was heard. A repeated noise like a ratchet on a spindle was heard clearly within the building. An object moved nearby. Repetition of noises was requested and a single tap was heard on a roof rafter. Further noises and bangs were heard within the building. Further repeats were requested but these were irregular although some were timed immediately after the request. Two repeats were asked for and two were produced. Ian asked 'Was that two?' and was immediately followed by two taps. Further repeats were asked for with no result. The investigation then concluded. |

The weather was windy in gusts. This may have accounted for
some of the noises and little further description will be given to them
from here on. There were shuffling noises in the first two sessions. The building is secure and even a rodent would have drawn attention to itself by other sounds. The shuffling noises were almost like dragged cloth over the floor or past a wall. These were unlike rodents however this was considered and then dismissed for the reasons above. The sounds in the first two sessions can mostly be put down to the wind operating the device on the roof as found when the lights were switched on for a few moments. A squeak could be heard as it moved in one direction and a bang as it moved back. The sounds upstairs and within the neighbouring room are less easy to explain. We have conducted a number of investigations here to date and been in both the rooms where these emanated from and on windy nights. They have never been heard before. Again rodents need to be considered but are unlikely given the type of noise. Footsteps heard to be of a human nature cannot be made by a rodent. The noises in building A were of interest and seemed to be reasonably consistent with requests to make them initially. This tended to diminish as the session progressed and are believed to have been more likely to be caused by the wind and timing was coincidental. Paddy described hearing a distinct voice saying 'She's here' repeatedly. There were no other people about and the only natural explanations are that the wind made a similar sound through nearby trees or it was a figment of his imagination. Given other events that have occurred previously we are not ruling anything out. Ian insists his batteries were brand new when he put them in at home. The loss of all energy from them cannot be explained. This is not the first time we have had energy loss on this site from batteries. The sounds of an exhale of breath were distinctly noted by Paddy and Dave separately at similar times. Ian and Kim did not do it nor did they hear it. Two people either mistook the wind, which we consider unlikely or there was a paranormal explanation which we cannot account for. There is no explanation for Dave's drawing. He cannot explain why he drew it or any details about the person it represents. The sounds of someone leaning on Paddy's car bonnet were not caused by the team who were behind his car at the time. The visibility was good and nothing landed on or near it from another source. The door slamming in building A was a dramatic event. On a previous investigation this was highlighted however on this occasion it was believed to be more likely to be down to a gust of wind. The pendulum experiment yielded no results but has given us thoughts for use on other occasions. During our stay a certain amount of other information was forthcoming
to the team of a clairvoyant nature. As Ghost Connections conducts scientifically
based investigations we do not publish such observations, however, this
information is held on a separate database and may prove interesting when
compared to other peoples experiences. Should you wish to discuss this
information please email
us. |

Conclusion | ||
Another compelling night at this location. Its is interesting to note that different things have been highlighted compared to previous investigations although many similarities are occurring time after time. The weather was different with an identifiable wind although we feel that not all of what was noted can be explained by this. | ||
