As always we respect the wishes of the custodians and will not identify this location. Ghost Connections have been here many times and had mixed results. We always look forward to a return and chose this place to start our 2011 campaign. Please view some of our previous reports and video footage from this “Undisclosed Church”. |

The Investigation | ||
Aim:
A return to continue our investigations of paranormal phenomena reported at this location, and to try to record evidence of any such activity. Apparatus: Camcorders: Sony DCR HC-62 with night vision and Sony HVL-IRM IR light Digital Camera: Fuji Fine Pix S1600 Fuji Fine Pix S5500 Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-38 X 2 Voice recorder: Olympus VN-2100PC Olympus DM20 HNSAT DVR958 Other: Tripods, Torches, Video tapes (MiniDV), DVD-RW's Investigators: Ian, Kim, Paddy and Dave. Method: Using the normal visual, audible and scientific methods combined with spiritual theory we were to investigate the alleged paranormal phenomena at this venue. We had been to this venue many times now so already had an idea of how we would proceed, and chose to conduct a series of seances in different areas of the church keeping this plan flexible depending on any results we might get. It was during these conditions that most activity had occurred previously. All the equipment as above was deployed around the séance area. Investigation: Séance one – South Aisle We took our seats and sat for a while before Dave began calling, Ian, Paddy and Kim were also to call out at different stages. We introduced ourselves, referred to previous visits and results and asked for more of the same. Ian pointed out the camcorders and asked for messages to be left on the audio. Séance two – Choir stalls We moved to this area as Paddy felt drawn to the here during the previous séance in the south aisle. More of the same questioning ensued with Dave taking the helm with the calling. Séance three – Return to choir stalls We returned to the same spot, Ian and Dave shared the calling. After a while the session was unfortunately cut short because of outsiders appearing in the vicinity of the church Séance four – Return to choir stalls An attempt to recommence what we had started but sadly five minutes later we again had to stop to check on visitors outside and wait till they had left. Séance five – Return to choir stalls This was to be our last attempt of the night due to the interruptions,
but we felt another session was warranted given the odd and limited results
so far. |

Séance one – South Aisle
Ian sees
a bright light in the vestry, the door was left open and could be viewed
from where Ian was sitting. Ian sees another less bright light flick by the bottom of the steps up the vestry. Paddy thinks he sees and hears movement from the area of the pulpit near the choir stalls Some occasional single taps were heard. The south door was seen to move and creak in it's frame. Dave thinks he sees another shadow move across the disabled access up to the east chapel. This was then followed by him appearing to see the large east window and chapel area tilt or rotate then shift back again. After a period with nothing to report we decided to end the session. Séance two – Choir stalls After fifteen minutes with nothing to comment on Dave thought he heard a movement behind him, he had his back to the main part of the church facing down the church. Séance three – Return to choir stalls The odd tap was heard some repeatedly from the same location in the south west corner. This became quite repetitive and was accompanied by the sounds of shuffling. Dave altered the questioning asking if anyone there would join us and come closer. While Ian calls Paddy hears a heavy thud or footfall from the bottom of the church, Ian asks for confirmation and a loud click is heard. After another period of nothing some multiple clicks are heard. This session only lasted five minutes so no results were forthcoming. Séance five – Return to choir stalls After twenty minutes of more calling in a seance formation with no results
we decided to break the séance and simply sit in the area holding
a vigil. After a further period of time with nothing happening we decided
to close the investigation. |

Conclusions | ||
Séance one – South Aisle The lights seen by Ian in the vestry and at the foot of the vestry were not caught on our footage as no camcorders were angled in that direction. Neither could we find a source for these so at this time they remain unexplained. The occasional taps and movement of the south door could be explained
as there was a stiff wind that night, which we felt was blowing against
the window frames and doors. The sense of movement and taps from the area
of the pulpit noticed by Paddy were not repeated on request, these may
well have been tricks of the light combined with more noise caused by
the wind outside. These events were not recorded on our equipment so no
further analysis can be made. The tilting movement of the east chapel witnessed by Dave cannot be corroborated as he only he witnessed this. Tired eye's, trick of the light, who knows? Séance two – Choir stalls The sound of movement behind Dave may again simply have been an effect of the blustery night, this was not repeated when requested and nothing more developed from this.
Séance three – Return to choir stalls The taps and shuffling heard by Dave and Paddy as well as other odd single noises heard during this session could again have been an effect of the wind outside, although it was noted that the wind had dropped by this point. This is the only explanation we can offer at this time as again these noises were not repeated or recorded on our footage. The loud footfall type sound heard by Paddy was not recorded so no analysis or conclusions can be drawn from this. Séance four – Return to choir stalls No results, therefore no conclusions are possible. Séance five – Return to choir stalls No results, therefore no conclusions are possible. This was a very quiet night compared to others spent in this location and was a disappointing start to 2011 but we shall move on to our next venue with high hopes.
