Undisclosed Location - East Kent

14th December 2013

Ghost Connections were privileged to be granted access to the same venue since 2007. This venue is in rural Kent and is significant historical interest spanning several centuries. To our knowledge it has never been subject to a paranormal investigation and after our first visit we are pleased to be able to conduct further investigations at this venue.

  The Investigation
The site consists of two buildings of which two have been referred to as buildings A and B in the previous report. The same terms will be used here.

Previously, in building A, we had noted a number different phenomena occurring including noises of movement, machinery being operated, sensations of heat and cold, sensations of being watched, shadows being seen to apparently move, sounds of persons moving around, knocks and taps occurring on demand and also during times when the team were not present.

In building B, we had noted strange lights, sounds of persons moving and a limited number of knocks and taps on demand.

We previously noted that certain things seem to occur in respective buildings with respective members of the team.

In accordance with the wishes of the venue we continue to keep the location anonymous.

Method:

Using visual and scientific methods combined with spiritual theory investigate the background to alleged paranormal phenomena at this venue.

We had tried previously various different pairings and full team approaches to investigations here and on this occasion returned to a team approach, at least for the first sessions.

Investigation:

The weather was windy on this visit again, the wind would noticeably pick up during the course of the evening. Uniquely on this occasion the investigation would take a twist after the first session with the rest of the night now spent in, previously non-investigated, Building C. Building C is a more modern rebuild consisting of utilities and toilets with an adjoining lecture room which the team usually use as a 'base' during the investigation nights at this venue.

Building A Session 1

The team based themselves on of the main doorways of Building A with recording taking place visually on Dave's camcorder and on Kim's voice recorder. They variously called out for responses.

The break was conducted in Building C as normal however due to events the investigation would continue within this building.

Building C Session 2.

The team arranged themselves at the furthest end of the lecture room in Building C with a view down the corridor past the utilities and toilets to the main door as a result of the events during the break. Recording took place on Dave's Camcorder and Kim's voice recorder.

Building C Session 3

The same arrangements as session 2.

Building C Session 4

The same arrangements as session 3.

Results
There is no way any persons could have entered the buildings without our knowledge and the integrity of the investigation is thus preserved.

Building A Session 1

Noises were coming from the door immediately near to the team.

An area of illumination on one of the beams caused by an outside security light was seen to be obscured from the view of the team and then re-illuminate.

The sound of movement on the ground was heard away from where the team were sitting.

Two distinct knocks were heard although the location was uncertain. They appeared close to the team and were captured on the footage.

A sound was heard like a grown near to Travis.

Kim saw a shadow move across Travis.

Two distinct 'clicks' were heard as if someone were clicking a torch on and off but this was no-one in the team and was identified as coming from the area of an item immediately next to Dave.

Graham senses a group of soldiers having a meeting during the second war. A small group having a meeting wearing flat caps and green uniforms.

Additional noises were heard within the building.

Building C Break

During the course of the break Dave was at the utility area by the main door with Graham while Kim remained in the lecture room. Dave believed Travis at this point was outside.

Kim heard a series of footsteps across the wooden floor moving away from her towards Graham and Dave. As this occurred the latch on the interior of the door lifted in accordance with the turning of the circular handle. The door slowly opened towards Dave who instinctively (believing it to be Travis ) stepped back to let him in. There was no-one at the door and at that moment Travis emerged from the toilets unaware of the events!

As a result of this the team would remain in this area.

Building C Session 2.

With lights off the area is well illuminated by green fire exit emergency lighting and the investigation took place in these conditions.

A single tap noise was heard from the ceiling area.

Multiple taps were heard, Kim questioned what it was and another followed. Dave said 'Hello' and again it was repeated louder. This continued as Kim asked if there was someone there. There then followed a number of further similar noises leading to the team identifying it was coming from the main door.

Dave examined the door from the inside and also went outside to see if a source could be found whilst the team and recording equipment remained inside. The noises did not continue from this point onwards.

Dave then came back in a securely pushed the door to and it then opened slowly and purposefully. It then opened without an assistance.

A long shadow was seen by all except Dave to move across the further wall and floor followed by a further tap.

Dave and Travis heard a 'mmmm' type vocal.

The camcorder was then moved back into the lecture room from the corridor where it has been focused on the door.

Sounds of movement were heard and Kim and Graham smelt an earthy smell.

A loud noise was heard from outside.

Kim asks if there was a well under the building.

A loud noise was heard within the room. It was not repeated on request.

Building C Session 3.

At the beginning of this session a couple of objects were placed on the floor within view of the camcorder.

A long shadow was seen to move across the floor and the wall of the room by all of the team followed by another.

Following a request from the team to knock twice for yes two taps were heard.

Graham notes that his left ear feels exceptionally hot.

A further shadow was seen within the room.

Graham and Kim comment on suddenly being cold.

Dave feels a distinct draught against the left side of his face.

More shadows are seen within the room in various places.

Graham and Travis got up to examine the emergency light on the ceiling with which Graham saw a n illumination on Travis's shoulder.

Kim saw another shadow move across the wall.

A faint knock was heard out in the corridor.

More shadows were seen on the floor and wall.

A faint sound like a footstep was heard followed by a series of noises similar to something being thrown and falling against a number of surfaces.

A series of noises were heard from many different areas likened to a fly being wrapped.

Building C Session 4.

Session 4 began as a repeat of session 3. Nothing of any note occurred.

Conclusions
Building B Session 1

The door was tested and when manually pushed did not make the noise heard. This may have been a gust of wind however this could not be established by manual operation.

The light was found to have been caused by the security light shining through a cap in the boards of the building creating an illumination about 9 feet (3m) up on a beam. The light is mounted high on another building and in order to cast a shadow to obscure it the object would have to be equally tall or in flight. Whilst there are bats present it is unlikely these caused such an obscurity. It remains unexplained.

Sounds of movement could have been caused by anything within the building although it is known no other persons were present. It was not established exactly where they were or what caused them.

Two distinct knocks were heard although the location was uncertain. They appeared close to the team and were captured on the footage. Their source cannot be identified although sound remarkably human in origin.

Initially Dave believed the 'groan' was a normal noise made by a part of a neighbouring building that had already been heard during that session but the rest of the team were adamant over its location. It cannot be identified what caused it. The proximity of the team to the door does not preclude the wind having caused the noise although it was not repeated during the rest of the session when equally violent gusts were experienced.

We believe we could identify most shadows caused by objects within the building and cannot suggest what caused the shadow across Travis.

The torch like noise was not identified. There was nothing on the item of an electrical nature or that could have been responsible for the noise on its own.

Research continues into a Second World War link to the buildings being used by the army.

During a discussion about the building being used by the army during the war a vocal sound is heard on the camcorder footage between Dave speaking. This was not noticed at the time.

The additional noises could not be identified although it was noted that the wind was increasing.

Building C Session 2

The single tap was of a different sound to the subsequent series of noises although no source for either was located. Dave identified that the series of noises appeared to be coming from the main door which was being filmed. Even outside he failed to locate anything that was either part of the door furniture or touching the door that could have made the sound.

The door opening was unusual although that night was windy and sudden gusts would appear almost from nowhere. It is possible the the door was not fully secured and may have opened due to the wind although it did not open violently as may have been expected.

The source of the shadow was not identified and tests on obscuring the emergency lights did not reveal a possible reason. The related vocal heard was not heard on the footage.
The movement sounds were not recorded on the footage.

The loud noise outside was likely to have been a strong gust of wind across the roof.

The loud noise within the room was unattributable and remains unexplained.

Building C Session 3

At the beginning of this session a couple of objects were placed on the floor within view of the camcorder.

A great number of shadows of some length were seen although nothing solid was seen to create them. It is difficult to evaluate any further and due to the camcorder recording in low light conditions then only shadows of objects in front of the IR will cause a shadow. What can be said is that no shadows are seen on the footage and neither are any unaccounted for moving objects. Speculation was that flies in the emergency fire light could have been responsible. Having examined the light it is difficult to agree as any light would be diffuse around an object close to the source.

The two knocks were heard on the footage although they did coincide with a gust of wind which can also be heard. It is possible that the wind was responsible despite the fact they sound like they are within the room. There was no other source located.

Feelings of being hot or cold as experienced a difficult to explain as they appear to be isolated to one of two of the team at a time.

Small illuminations a difficult to explain with an absence of lights within the room other than the low level emergency lights. These were not within the field of view to be on the footage so cannot be further explored.

No further details for Grahams age and year were traceable or forthcoming.

The footstep followed by a series of noises is interesting. They are on the footage and the noises sound as if something like a piece of gravel was thrown. A few pieces were found on the floor afterwards but we cannot say they weren't there beforehand. What cannot be explained is the sound of it falling against a number of objects.

The noise likened to a fly being wrapped transpired to be ? a fly being wrapped by a spider.

During our stay a certain amount of other information was forthcoming to the team of a clairvoyant nature. As Ghost Connections conducts scientifically based investigations we do not publish such observations, however, this information is held on a separate database and may prove interesting when compared to other peoples experiences. Should you wish to discuss this information please email us.

Camcorder footage, still photographs and voice recorders were later examined and nothing further of note was found. Some of the audible noises were found to be recorded and as such we can be certain that they were not imagined by the team.
Thanks
Ghost Connections extend their thanks to the custodians of this site for their continued support to an ongoing series of investigations.
